Alarm Function

The Cranns alarm system offers three operating modes:

1. Standby Mode (No Bluetooth Signal)

Standby mode is activated when the disc lock and brake disc are separated. If no obstruction is detected by the brake disc for 5 seconds, the system emits a “Beep” sound to confirm entry into standby mode.

In standby mode, no Bluetooth signal is transmitted in order to reduce battery consumption. The mobile application cannot connect without an active Bluetooth signal.

Standby mode is similar to neutral in a motorcycle—it allows you to select the desired operating mode.

2. Non-Alarm Mode (No Bluetooth Signal)

Non-alarm mode is activated when the disc lock is attached to the brake disc. If the brake disc continuously blocks the laser sensor for 5 seconds, the system recognizes entry into non-alarm mode and emits a “Beep” sound.

In this mode, no Bluetooth signal is transmitted to save battery power, and connection with the mobile app is not available.

To exit non-alarm mode, insert the key and unlock the cylinder, separating the lock from the disc. If the separation exceeds 5 seconds, the system returns to standby mode with a “Beep” sound.

If the lock is removed and reattached within 5 seconds, the system remains in non-alarm mode and emits a “Beep” sound.

To switch from non-alarm mode to alarm mode, the system must first return to standby mode and then follow the alarm activation process.

3. Alarm Mode (Bluetooth Signal Active)

Alarm mode is activated when the lock is attached to the brake disc. To enable it, insert the lock into the brake disc twice quickly while in standby mode.

The system detects the consecutive insertion and removal (two actions within 3 seconds) and emits a “Beep Beep” sound as a pre-warning. After this, there is a 10-second pre-alarm period to secure the lock. Once the 10 seconds pass, a continuous “Beep” indicates full alarm activation. Any vibration or movement at this stage will trigger the 120 dB alarm.

In alarm mode, the system transmits a Bluetooth signal, allowing the user to connect to the app, adjust volume and sensitivity, and view activation history.

Note that Bluetooth is only active during alarm mode.

To exit alarm mode, unlock the cylinder and separate the lock from the disc. The system will return to standby mode with a “Beep” sound.
